Jake Belnick of the Do Me a Solid podcast routinely sits down with top industry talent and discusses everything from how they got their start, opinions on hot industry topics, musical inspiration, professional tips and tricks of the trade.
Music Supervisor Jake Belnick is an industry veteran who’s worked on shows such as Friday Night Lights, Parenthood, Hawaii 5-0, Kevin Hart’s Laugh at My Pain comedy special, Discovery’s Surviving The Cut, and dozens more across a slew of media outlets. After years of crafting his musical services, he launched the Do Me a Solid podcast to divulge and dissect his wealth of knowledge with the musical elite.
You’ll definitely recognize special guests of the podcast such as the Emmy-nominated composer Lorne Balfe (Mission Impossible: Fallout, Ghost in the Shell, Pacific Rim: Uprising), Chris Ledesma (music editor for The Simpsons), superstar songwriter and producer Robbie Nevil (Hannah Montana, Jonas Brothers, Jesse McCartney), and countless others.
In one episode he spent time with our very own Russell Emanuel, CEO of Extreme Music. Together they discuss the beginnings of Extreme Music, its industry revolution and 22-year reign as the top production music library in the game. They also dive into the evolution of Bleeding Fingers Music, co-founded with the legendary Hans Zimmer, whose team of Emmy-nominated composers has scored projects such as Planet Earth II, The Package on Netflix, and The Simpsons.
